The MSc Cognitive Science suits those interested in issues relating to the rich questions about the human mind from philosophical, psychological, and computational perspectives. Advanced computational skills are not a prerequisite. The course is designed as a suitable preparation for those wishing to progress to research, e.g. at PhD level.

Learning outcomes

At University College Dublin, we offer a one year taught masters degree in Cognitive Science, leading to an M.A. or M.Sc in University College Dublin. The taught masters can be taken over two years if studying part-time. We also offer degrees of M.Sc. and Ph.D. by research, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Science. In order to qualify for admission to the degree, a student must have a good honours undergraduate degree in one of computer science, psychology, philosophy, linguistics, neuroscience, or a cognate discipline. Typically a minimum final grade of II.1 or equivalent is expected.
