Program Details
Building on the knowledge and skills acquired during the bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, The Bioinformatics program offered by Goethe University Frankfurt provides advanced, research-oriented expertise in the areas of network analysis/systems biology, sequence analysis/data mining, structural analysis/molecular modeling, and neuroprocesses /computational neurobiology as core subjects. Elective courses in computer science, biology, chemistry, biophysics, and medicine allow students to gain additional specialized knowledge and skills.
Through a research internship, students have the opportunity to acquire insights into current research areas and actively contribute to research tasks.
Graduates are well-prepared for lifelong learning and diverse career paths thanks to the foundational focus of the education.

General requirements
- You need a bachelor's degree in the subject of bioinformatics or a comparable academically oriented degree in a related field with a strong focus on bioinformatics (e.g., computer science, bioinformatics, and biology) with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters/180 CP. Equivalent German or international degrees in the same or a related subject area with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters/180 CP are also accepted.
- You need English proficiency at level B1.
