Overview

Throughout the Adult Nursing (Pre-registration) course from Manchester Metropolitan University you'll gain the experience and skills required to practice as an adult nurse in two years, rather than the traditional three-year route.

Our aim is to make sure we prepare you for the challenges you may face and develop the expertise you’ll need to become a leader in nursing. You’ll learn how to assess your patient’s needs and provide sensitive support, and how to collaborate with colleagues across a range of professions (including doctors, physiotherapists and dieticians).

General requirements

All applicants must have achieved a minimum of a first degree (2:2 or above), and should have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including mathematics, English language, science, and provide evidence of IT skills through a formal qualification or the completion of a self-assessment questionnaire.

We will accept GCSE science, biology, additional science, applied science, physics or chemistry. BTEC Level 2 science (Pass) as an acceptable equivalent.

Applicants must evidence recent study within the last five years. Plus, evidence of relevant, practical experience through the pre-entry portfolio.

A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this programme. In addition, students who have resided outside the UK will be required to provide evidence of a satisfactory overseas police check.

Satisfactory occupational health clearance is also required to participate in this course.
