Overview

Bioengineering (Double Degree) from Brno University of Technology aims to prepare biomedical engineers for work in positions in companies focused on the medical segment and in research or development teams. Graduates will gain a good basis for independent scientific work and for continuing in doctoral study programs at domestic and foreign universities. 

The overall goal of the study program subjects is to educate employees for positions in companies that provide development and production of electronic medical systems, devices and software development for clinical practice, to educate top experts with quality knowledge in bioengineering and applied informatics who are able to cooperate.

Careers

Graduates of the Master's program in Bioengineering can participate in interdisciplinary team projects together with physicians, informatics and technicians, including projects in research centers at the international level, where graduates should be able to include professional communication in English. The deep foundation and acquired skills in the field of signal and image processing and data analysis, in the design and construction of complex electronic (not only) medical systems, but also in the field of biomedical physics, will provide graduates with opportunities for wide application in practice. Graduates of the master's program will also be sufficiently theoretically prepared to work in applied and experimental research in the field of biomedical engineering, they will be able to apply in companies that provide development, production, distribution and service of medical devices, devices and software for clinical practice, but also in positions in clinical operations, hospitals, laboratories and tissue banks. Graduates will also be sufficiently prepared for continuing education in doctoral study programs.
