• Along with artistic sensibility and academic abilities, music majors must also have extensive knowledge of music as well as knowledge of language, philosophy, literature, history, and science. In order to develop independent music scholars, the curriculum is organized to focus on music theory and music history and provide training in the exploration of potential study fields technique of methodology selection, cultivation of academic application ability, materials collection methods, academic thinking, writing, etc. 

• In addition, University of Ulsan's Composition curriculum also has a wide scope ranging from Korean music to World music.

• The educational goal of a Musicology major is to cultivate specialists in the academic and practical fields of musicology such as competent scholars, critics, professionals in management and planning.
