Overview
The objective of the University of Kassel's programmeElectrical Communication Engineering is to enable students to work in different fields of electrical communications, both in academia and industry, i.e. to pursue a PhD or a job in research & development departments, consulting, operation and maintenance, patent issues, acquisition of projects, etc.
The programme is geared towards students with a B.Sc. degree in communication technology or a related area. The standard period of study is three semesters (one and a half years), where the first two semesters are devoted to courses, seminars and lab trainings organised in modules of a large variety of topics. The third semester is used exclusively for the final thesis module.
Career
Upon reception of the M.Sc. degree, students interested in academic research and teaching careers can pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) in different areas of communications comprising the aforementioned topics. The objective of the program is to enable the student to work in different fields of electrical communications, both in academia and industry. Requirement for admission
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a final mark of 2.5 or better. In well-founded exceptional cases where applicants have evidenced know-how and/or skills in ECE-related fields the members of the Admission Board may take adjudications.
- Sufficient proficiency in the English language must be certified by:
- English as your mother tongue or
- Previous studies conducted entirely in English or
- International language certificate of level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Referenz for Languages (CEF).
