Overview
The first objective of the Aix-Marseille University's Master of Neuroscience is to give the student a specialized set of theoretical and technical skills in all topics covered by the Neuroscience fields. A significant proportion of the courses is therefore common to all paths.
The second objective of the Master of Neuroscience is to train students through research in order to encourage them to become autonomous. This is achieved through the development, in all courses, of analytical and critical approaches. A third aim is to train students to teamwork and collective project management - which does not exclude autonomy and, when possible, leadership.
Brain Sciences are in full progress and constitute one of the major challenges of the Life Sciences of the 21th century. They represent a multidisciplinary field ranging from molecular and cellular approaches to cognitive approaches, and focus on the understanding of the structures and functions of neurons and neural networks, their development and their implication in large-scale integrative and cognitive functions.
Career
The training opens up to executive positions (researchers, lecturers, clinical research associate, engineers, project managers, etc.) in research and development in public institutions (research organizations, universities, university hospitals, local authorities) as well as in industry (R&D, pharmaceutical industry), private research centers, charitable associations, scientific communication, physical activities and disability, robotics or artificial intelligence.
