“Environmental quality” is a field that addresses reciprocal relations between humans and their natural environment or the environment that they have created themselves.
The field of Environmental Engineering utilizes knowledge and solutions from the following sciences: ecology, atmospheric sciences, earth sciences, chemical engineering, water engineering and more.

- Control and prevention of air pollution, recycling, treatment and disposal of urban and industrial waste
- Utilization and preservation of above ground and subterranean water resources
- Design and function of water pipes, drainage systems and sewage systems, water channeling/quality and water treatment, urban and industrial sewage treatment
- Coastal water quality, marine environment quality, revitalization of polluted groundwater and subterranean water

General requirements
- Graduates of Civil or Environmental Engineering or any other engineering disciplines with a grade point average of at least 84 are eligible for admission to the MSc degree program.
- Graduates with a grade average of at least 75 are eligible for admission to the ME program. Supplementary course requirements for holders of four-year degrees in fields not corresponding to the program in which they are enrolled, will be determined by the faculty graduate studies committee.
- Graduates of three-year degree programs may be admitted as qualifying students. Their course work requirements will be determined by the graduate studies committee.
