Construction managers may work at times for either public or private construction projects, sometimes on behalf of the construction firm and sometimes for the management, coordination and supervision office.

The management of the different stages of the construction process includes a broad variety of tasks that require knowledge and skills in an assortment of management, economic, business, planning and legal areas, in addition to proficiency in classic engineering issues.

Over the last few years the need for high quality training of civil engineers able to operate in a structured and professional way in all these fields has been growing acutely.

Additional courses allow students to deepen their knowledge in areas of leadership, mega-projects, the industrialization of construction, quality management and narrow construction. The Construction Management programme is offered at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

General requirements

Graduates of Civil or Environmental Engineering or any other engineering disciplines with a grade point average of at least 84 are eligible for admission to the MSc degree program.

Graduates with a grade average of at least 75 are eligible for admission to the ME program. Supplementary course requirements for holders of four-year degrees in fields not corresponding to the program in which they are enrolled, will be determined by the faculty graduate studies committee.
Graduates of three-year degree programs may be admitted as qualifying students. Their course work requirements will be determined by the graduate studies committee.
