Who is it for?
This programme is only suitable for those whose role entails educating others - and for some of the modules additional experience may be required. Research students at City St George's, University of London who are required to teach are also eligible to attend and complete certain modules.
Objectives
MA Academic Practice is a part-time postgraduate taught programme combining theory, practice, and the use of reflection to enable you to develop your teaching skills and educational knowledge for your role in Higher Education. The programme is primarily aimed at staff (internal or external to City, University of London) with an educating or facilitating role with students.
A key characteristic of the programme involves learning by working with peers, as well as through engagement with a number of educational technologies.

General requirements
- The programme is open to staff of the University and external colleagues. To apply you should have a role that requires you to teach and facilitate student learning. You should normally have a first or second class Honours degree (or equivalent non-UK qualification).
- In order to undertake the assessments, you will also need experience of regular teaching or facilitation activity (part-time teaching is sufficient). This does not apply if you wish to only undertake a module on an attendance only basis (i.e. without being assessed or awarded a qualification).
