- A Bachelor of Engineering Science/Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering (or an identifiable major in Civil Engineering) with a minimum 3 years of full-time study with credit average, awarded by an Australian university or a recognised overseas equivalent;
- A non-accredited (under the Washington Accord) Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree with a minimum of 4 years of full-time study in in Mechanical Engineering (or an identifiable major in Mechanical Engineering) with credit average, awarded by an Australian university, or a recognised overseas equivalent.
