Overview
This Spatial Planning program from University of Palermo trains planners of cities and of the sustainable development of territories in all fields of action: from the definition of land uses to the conscious and sustainable use of natural resources, from the protection of the environment to the enhancement of landscapes, from infrastructural endowments to urban services. The fields of action of spatial planning extend from the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage to the protection of ecosystem balances, from urban regeneration to the design of the smart city.
The professionalism of the master's degree in SING is also expressed in the performance of management activities, coordination and processing of strategic environmental assessments and technical feasibility of urban and territorial plans and projects. He/she is the expert capable of directing and carrying out complex and specialised diagnoses concerning cities, territories, landscapes and the environment and their reciprocal interrelationships, possessing exclusive competences in strategic environmental assessment (SEA).
Key facts:
The course of study envisages that students will carry out as much experimental experience as possible with thematic laboratories and characterising and related disciplines that enable them to grasp the various points of view on the transformation of the city and the territory, in economic, social, environmental, landscape, infrastructural and architectural and urban design terms.

In the case of students who have started their studies in other universities or study courses and who wish to verify, prior to the formal enrolment procedures, the possible suitability of their qualification for access to the LM-48 degree or/and the possible recognition of subjects taken in other study courses, they may write to the coordinator of the study course
- For Italian candidates:
For students coming from courses pertaining to other degree classes, the curricular requirements are defined by a total of 50 CFU in the subject areas Mathematics and Statistics, Botany and Ecology, Agronomy and Cultural Systems, Applied Geology, Technical Environmental Physics, Drawing Representation and Topography, Infrastructures and Transport Systems, Architectural Design.
Knowledge of English language equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent is required.
