Course overview

This Collection Design program at Polimoda is composed of three main didactic areas: Craft, the acquisition of cultural and technical skills; Design, the research and conception of a collection and Development, the creation, fashioning and finishing of the garments. The final presentation consists in the exhibition of a personal portfolio and public performance of a collection.

This intensive specialization program is run by resident teachers from the industry and international guests. It features workshops in tailoring techniques, draping, pattern making and printing, constant teamwork with master artisans and a special applied project with an external company as well as internship opportunities.

The career of a Collection Design Specialist requires a broad set of competencies, from translating contemporary culture and trend references into winning product lines to following every working stage —idea to delivery— with determination.
