Pathology is the branch of medical science that deals with the study and diagnosis of diseases. It involves the examination of organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and cells to determine the nature, cause, and effects of diseases. It is a fundamental component of modern medicine and contributes significantly to patient care, research, and public health. It also helps identify diseases at an early stage, provides prognostic information, guides treatment decisions, and contributes to the understanding of disease processes.

Mission

The mission of the Pathology (Forensic Pathology) (Clinical) program at University Kebangsaan Malaysia is to improve the understanding of Pathology and Medical Laboratory through innovative and collaborative research and education in order to improve the health standard of the global community.

General requirements

A person who intends to apply for a master’s programme should have the following Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree by obtaining a good Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a University or any institution of higher learning recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and/ or having accreditation recognized by a foreign Accreditation Body, or institution who has accreditation as prescribed by a programme;
Doctor of Medicine degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University or any institution of higher learning or an equivalent degree from any institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate;
any other qualification recognised by the Senate obtained through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL);
fulfils other requirements prescribed by the programme (if applicable) and
fulfils requirements of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
