Overview
The teaching and strengthening of key qualifications integrated into the specialist training also serves to prepare students for professional activities. This includes working together in small groups to find a solution to a problem and presenting complex relationships in a clear and understandable way in a presentation. Other (key) qualifications include sufficient knowledge of technical English, mastery of text editing and presentation tools and at least one programming language, and familiarity with mathematics programs (such as Maple or Mathematica) and statistical program packages.

- Admission to the Master's degree program is available to anyone who can prove that they have a first university degree qualifying them for a profession with a standard period of study of at least six semesters in accordance with the subject-specific regulations.
- Degrees from accredited bachelor's degree courses at vocational academies are equivalent to bachelor's degrees from universities.
- Applicants with a degree obtained abroad will be granted access provided that the degree obtained is deemed sufficient and the required language skills are proven.
