Key Facts
The Tema and Heritage and Development program at University of Catania is making European cultural heritage its new key element. The emphasis put on cultural heritage resulted from the recognition of its importance in contemporary culture on global, national and regional scales, and, within the EU . During the last decades, the academic institutionalization of Cultural Heritage Studies took various forms according to countries and disciplinary backgrounds. Now that the European dimension of heritage became an expression of contemporary identity building , it is time that should also be induced into higher education.
Therefore, the new TEMA+ Master Program offers a network-based approach and a critical-analytical interpretation in order to establish a current and innovative higher educational project of European Cultural Heritage Studies.

General requirements
- To access the Degree Course, candidates must have at least 36 CFU in the following areas: M-STO, L-ANT, L-ART, L-FIL-LET, L-OR, SPS, M-DEA, SECS-P, M-FIL, M-GGR, IUS, L-LIN
- The Commission verifies the adequate preparation of the candidates through the analysis of the personal curriculum. If, on the basis of the analysis of the personal curriculum, the Commission deems it necessary to verify the adequacy of the preparation, it calls the candidates for an individual interview.
- After the possible completion of the interview, if the number of candidates is greater than the number of available places, a merit ranking will be prepared. The requirement of knowledge of the language is considered satisfied by passing a university course in a foreign language.
