Overview
The course imparts a profound understanding of the chemical, biophysical, molecular, cytological and biotechnological disciplines of life sciences.
Key features
At the University of Salzburg, the Molecular Biology MSc degree course offers lecture courses and seminars analysing complex cellular interactions related with the issues of cellular stress response, ageing and regeneration. In addition, there are seminars on the analysis of proteomes, systems biology, and functional analysis in model systems. Complementarily, the faculty in Linz offers courses dealing with biophysics, biological analysis and biotechnology.
First and foremost, students benefit from the wide choice of biological and molecular biological subjects they can study at the University of Salzburg (basics in biology, genetics & cellular biology, biochemistry and molecular genetics).
In addition, they also get to know a partner university in an early stage of their studies, and study physics & biophysics, organic & analytical chemistry, and molecular biotechnologies at the University of Linz. This inter-university course starting at the University of Salzburg prepares students both professionally and organisationally for the dynamics of modern working life.
