Overview

The School of Law is home to the University of Nottingham Commercial Law Centre, which is committed to the promotion of research excellence in the field of commercial law as well as the impact of research on commercial law reform and development, nationally and internationally. The centre is co-directed by Professor Paul Torremans, a leading authority in the field of trademark and patent law. They believe that hands-on experience is crucial to students’ learning development and workplace preparation. Depending on module selection, students may have opportunities to interact with emerging technologies and delve into real-world case studies through collaborations with the university’s Cobot Maker Space and the school’s Law and Tech Lab.

Career

The graduates go on to a wide range of careers. Many go into the legal profession or return to their previous legal careers with specialist knowledge and enhanced prospects. Others work in international organisations and NGOs. Some graduates further their academic career by progressing onto the PhD programme.

Recent graduate destinations include BAE Systems, Clifford Chance, London Stock Exchange and Simmons & Simmons.
