Overview

The The Interdisciplinary Studies (Online) program at The University of Toledo is for non-traditional students with bachelor’s degrees who desire additional study in the liberal arts.

There are a few required courses that cover topics in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and visual and performing arts, but then students are free to choose most of their classes from the university's diverse list of online graduate-school classes that meet their career interests and goals. Students will also complete a traditional thesis or design their own creative or applied capstone project.

Some students enter the program uncertain about their long-term objectives but are quickly inspired by a particular course or line of inquiry. Few educational paths prepare graduates as holistically as advanced study in interdisciplinary studies.

an application,
a statement of purpose,
writing sample,
post-secondary transcripts (not necessary for applicants with a UT degree),
and three letters of reference.
Students with an undergraduate GPA of less than 2.70 must also submit GRE scores to be considered for admission. Applicants may request or may be requested to have an interview with the director.
