The University of Waterloo’s Department of Civil Engineering is your destination for a graduate student experience that will yield benefits long after graduation.
The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil Engineering Co-op program is a coursework-based degree that includes one to two terms of co-op. The program will provide you with the real-world hands-on experience you need to advance your career and give you a competitive edge in the job market. As this is a self-funded degree option you will not be provided with funding or be assigned a supervisor.

- An honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a 75% standing.
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score (only for those applicants who completed their degree outside of Canada or United States).
- Note: GRE is waived as a requirement for fall 2025, winter 2026 and spring 2026 admission cycles.
