Overview

This Master’s programme offers an intense academic structure, combining in-depth knowledge of the Mediterranean region with professional skills and hands-on regional experience. In the first semester, students gain foundational training in geopolitics, security, and regional cooperation. In the second, they select from seven policy-oriented electives. A key feature is the series of professional study visits to Morocco, the UAE, and Spain, where students engage with local experts, entrepreneurs, and policymakers, receiving training and visiting key institutions. The programme concludes with a competitive capstone project, where students, working as a consulting team, tackle a real-world issue in coordination with a host organization. They design the research, conduct analysis, and deliver actionable recommendations.

International Study Visits

Three international study visits to partner universities across the region in Morocco, Spain, and the UAE to increase direct engagement with local institutions and experts.

Semester II (February–July 2026) – Core Courses

Regional perspectives: The Middle East and the Gulf
Political Economy of the Mediterranean area
The Mediterranean between Africa and the Middle East: history, epistemologies, and practices

Students choose six electives from:

Governance of Migration Flows
Law, Finance and Trade in the Mediterranean
Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid
Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Diasporas in the broader Mediterranean
Management of Natural Resources
Doing Green Business in the Mediterranean
