Key facts

Candidates having professional qualifications recognized by AICTE, like AMIE, are also eligible to apply. In addition, candidates sponsored by an industry/R&D organization are also considered. Sponsored candidates must have at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination and at least two years of work experience. A GATE score is not mandatory for sponsored candidates. Computer Science and Engineering is delivered by Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.

Mode of selection: Through COAP

Candidates should satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria and regular studentship criteria as declared in IIT Guwahati main admission portal.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the GATE score cutoff in CS GATE paper. In July 2025 M.Tech.

OBC (NCL): 585

SC/ST/PWD: 433

Based on the GATE score of the candidates, ranked list of candidates will be prepared.

For Non-GATE candidate with IIT Degree, the candidate will be shortlisted for online interview based on the following:

Candidates should satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria and regular studentship criteria as declared in IIT Guwahati main admission portal.

Candidates should have BE/B.Tech./BS(4 years)/MSc in CS or equivalent area.

Any additional shortlisting criteria set by the department will be declared later on.

For Non-GATE candidate with IIT Degree, the interview results will be published in main admission portal, IIT Guwahati.
