Overview
What makes fluid dynamics unique is its extraordinary scope, spanning scales from the nanoworld to cosmic dimensions. These scales are intrinsically coupled, resulting in a rich set of nonlinear phenomena that, as of today, remain only partially understood. This multi-scale approach sets the Applied Physics - Mastertrack Physics of Fluids and Flows programme from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) part from more traditional programmes. You will explore, for example, turbulence, multiphase flows, geophysical flows, flows in porous media, nano and microfluidics, and active fluids.
Key facts
- You become part of a research environment that combines cutting-edge experimental techniques, advanced computational methods, and theory development to analyze and solve real-world problems in society, science or the high-tech industry.
- This track prepares you to develop creative solutions to complex flow-related challenges across academic and industrial domains.
- As part of the Brainport ecosystem, you benefit from strong connections to leading companies and excellent career opportunities after graduation.
After graduation
- The master’s in Applied Physics prepares you for a diverse and flexible career path, offering broad opportunities in the job market. There is a continuous demand from both industry and research institutions for experts who can work at the interface of physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Graduates often find positions in R&D departments of companies such as Philips, ASML, DSM, and Canon or at research institutes like TNO. Alternatively, you might pursue a role that draws on your organizational and leadership skills.
