The MA in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies from British University in Egypt is a two-year, full-time interdisciplinary programme.

The programme requires a total of 42 credits, with 7 modules in the first year with a combined weight of twenty-one credits and the thesis in the second year with a total weight of twenty-one credits. The Programme is divided into four semesters, each with its own set of modules. The first year focuses on laying the foundation for the programme with core modules in research methods, criticism & theory, and discipline-specific subjects. Students also choose elective modules in the second semester. At least three students are required for an elective to be open. In the second year, the third and fourth semesters are dedicated to writing the thesis. In Thesis I, students must write the theoretical framework, methodology and literature review. In Thesis II, students finish the comparative analysis and submit it to the supervisor for approval. Obtaining the M.A. degree requires a minimum of two years and can be extended to a maximum of four years under conditions of recommendation by the supervisor and approval by the relevant Department and Faculty councils. To consider the circumstances of the postgraduate students, modules can be taught late afternoon and on the weekends.
