Overview
Health from University of Chichester programme is available to both NIHR funded and non-funded students. It is designed as an introduction to research practice either as a standalone qualification or as a precursor to studying for a PhD.
Key facts
The course focuses on developing your applied professional practice through fundamental and extended research methods training and a specialist choice from a suite of Masters modules.
Provides a structured but flexible approach, consisting of three taught modules, two of which introduce you to research methods and concepts, the third is a discipline-specific module which can be undertaken in any field of related practice.
The precise choice will be discussed at interview. The final element will be a 120-credit research dissertation with a focus on strategic service outcomes.

General requirements
- Be working in an allied health, social care, medical, social care and/or social work role, which demonstrates learning in a professional context
- Hold a degree and/or professional qualification at graduate level in a relevant field
- Have substantial practice experience in relevant settings.
- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language, mathematics and a science subject.
- An upper-second-class degree (or equivalent) in a related field is required. Related degrees include medical, sport and biomedical science, and science degrees such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry and physiology. Other degrees will be considered on an individual basis.
- Applicants with extensive relevant industry experience with a 2.2 in a relevant field, and applicants with a first or upper second classification in a non-specified field with work experience in a relevant environment will be referred to the programme leader for consideration.
