Slovene Studies - Literary Science from University of Nova Gorica is evaluated with ECTS (European credit transfer system). This allows the students to enter other comparable programs across Europe (Where ever ECTS is used) during or after they finish this program.

- The goal of the Master's Degree Programme Humanities Studies track in Linguistics is to train experts with wide-ranging insight into linguistic sciences, with an emphasis on the scientific approach in linguistics. They will learn to profoundly approach problems and research as well as to solve complex issues regarding language. They will master several methods of studying linguistic phenomena and be prepared to take opportunities for transferring their knowledge into practice. After completing their studies, students will be prepared to engage in independent scientific research within the broader field of linguistics, or work in the high-tech industry.
- The goal of the Master's Degree Programme Humanities Studies track in Literary Science is to educate experts with a wide-ranging insight into literary studies and emphasized research skills. Students will learn to treat problems in depth, independently and creatively. They will not only study concrete literary phenomena, but also have a broad overview of the possibilities of transferring knowledge into practice. After completing their studies, students will be able to engage in independent research and business as well as find employment in organizations dealing in literary matters.
- The goal of the Master's Degree Programme Humanities Studies track in the Histories and Cultures of Crossborder Spaces is to train experts who will have a wide-ranging insight into the cultural and historical themes of crossborder spaces. Specific cultural practices and issues of multicultural and crossborder spaces will be researched, reflected upon, and intensively discussed in an interdisciplinary approach. Students will be able to examine specific crossborder cultural and historical phenomena and put their knowledge into practice. Upon completing their studies, they will be able to work both as independent professionals and in a specific company or organization dealing with historical, intercultural and transnational issues and development challenges.

General requirements
- Anybody with a finished 180 ECTS Ist level program in Slovene Studies, Comparative literature, Classical Philology or any other humanistic program from the field of literary science is eligible to enroll in the 1st year of this Master’s program.
- Candidates who finished a 240 ECTS program in these fields can enroll directly in to the 2nd year
- In case the number of candidates exceeds the number of available positions, the candidates will be selected based on their GPA from their undergraduate study.
