Course Overview

The main features of the Interdisciplinary Sciences program at ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology is the great freedom students have in compiling their individual study programme combining subjects ranging from chemistry, physics and biology to computer science, materials, earth and environmental sciences.

Graduates acquire the skills necessary for interdisciplinary work in research, teaching, industry, business, and the civil service. Research in rapidly developing areas between the classical disciplines presents unique opportunities.Depending on the study programme chosen the Master in Interdisciplinary Sciences is furthermore complemented by the specific major as selected by the students.

General requirements

The basis for admission is always your undegraduate degree, even if you already hold an advanced degree.
Admission to its Master's degree programmes is highly selective. We are looking for applications from excellent Bachelor graduates from universities comparable to ETH Zurich that meet the degree-specific requirement profiles.
The level of basic education is thus very high and the Master's degree programmes build on this foundation. Hence, we expect no less from candidates that are admitted to our graduate programmes and, in general, only strong students from internationally reputed universities are accepted.
