Overview
At this International Law course offered by University of Nottingham you will have the opportunity to study a range of specialist areas including international criminal law; international environmental law; United Nations law; and international humanitarian law.
The University of Nottingham has a long and distinguished tradition in the study of international law. You will be taught by experts in their fields, many of whom contribute to policymaking at state and international levels. This practical application of academic knowledge allows you to see how international law can have a tangible impact.
The School of Law is home to the Nottingham International Law and Security Centre (NILSC), directed by Professor Dino Kritsiotis. The experts develop thinking around many of the challenges facing society today, including climate change, food security, terrorism, military and maritime security, cyber-security and global economic crises.
NILSC’s research and activities underpin the teaching and offer a range of opportunities for you to participate in the activities, from voluntary placements to paid summer internships. These experiences are designed to broaden your understanding of international law research and practical work.
Career
The graduates go on to a wide range of careers. Many go into the legal profession or return to their previous legal careers with specialist knowledge and enhanced prospects. Others work in international organisations and NGOs. Some graduates further their academic career by progressing onto the PhD programme.
Recent graduate destinations include BAE Systems, Clifford Chance, London Stock Exchange and Simmons & Simmons.
