The Language and Mind - Linguistics and Cognitive Studies programme from University of Siena also offers two main specializations through its two curricula “Linguistics and Cognition” and “Philosophy and Cognition”, with flexible options to combine teachings from both.

- The Master programme in Language and Mind. Linguistics and Cognitive Studies, prepares students to undertake advanced doctoral studies and provides them with a specialized knowledge of the research issues in the fields of linguistics and philosophy. The program is centred on advance theoretical and experimental research on language and cognition.
- Students will become able to address a specialized scientific bibliography, mostly in English and to be in contact with qualified publications and scientific journals, both on paper and online.
- The acquired capacity to apply theories and methods of linguistic research to the description and analysis of particular languages in a comparative perspective prepares the students to operate in the domain of advanced fundamental and applied research on human language.

General requirements
- Candidates are required to hold a three-year degree (B.A.)
- The admission to the Master of a graduate who is in possession of a degree awarded by a foreign University or an equivalent foreign institute is evaluated by the Didactic Committee through a case by case assessment, considering the documentation received through online procedures, on the basis of the relevance and consistency of the qualification obtained abroad (and of the entire training course) with the training objectives of the Master.
- The Didactic Committee may request a further clarification on the motivations of the student to request admission and on his / her training path through a motivation letter. An interview may also be required, in English, to be held in video-conference.
