Overview
A hybrid and flexible educational offering
The International Dispute Settlement programme of University of Geneva has diversified its educational offering in order to meet the increasing demand for flexibility. Its traditional on campus program is now complemented by a high-quality online format: the MIDS Online Section. The program is overall the same and both formats offer the excellence that our students, our faculty, and our recruiters have come to expect from the MIDS as a matter of course.
The MIDS Online Section applies the same requirements and has the same educational objectives as the On Campus Section. Its pedagogy has been adapted to incorporate innovative teaching formats and technologies inspired by the best practices developed in recent years, in order to adapt to the specificities of distance learning.
The MIDS Online Section provides additional flexibility by allowing distance students to take the program in one or two years. This new modality offers students the advantage of accommodating professional and personal life constraints more easily.
A carefully designed curriculum
The International Dispute Settlement curriculum is designed to meet the educational needs that arise from this evolution. It teaches about dispute settlement from a holistic perspective and covers all its aspects, both private and public. It is global in terms of format and faculty. The professors are some of the most prominent experts in each field of international dispute settlement and come from the USA, South America, Asia, Africa and throughout Europe. Its structure combines the multicultural approach to legal studies in Continental Europe with the interactive teaching method of the United States and the small-group tutorial system of Oxford and Cambridge. Class size is kept relatively small to ensure maximum interaction between faculty and students.
