Overview
Dive into the molecular and cellular underpinnings of human health and disease, and learn how to translate research discoveries into clinical applications. You’ll explore how DNA, RNA and proteins drive physiological processes and pathologies, choose from specialised tracks like Human Biology, Medical Epigenomics, Neurobiology, Science in Society or Science, Management & Innovation, and engage in hands-on research in collaboration with leading scientists and clinical partners. With direct access to high-end laboratories and real-world biomedical environments, this programme prepares you to make meaningful contributions in research, healthcare innovation, policy or science-society interfaces.
Thinking of getting a teaching qualification?
Are you interested in obtaining your first-degree teaching qualification in biology, while also broadening and deepening your subject knowledge? The (Dutch-only) Two-year Educational Master's in Biology combines biology subjects, didactics and internships, which trains you to become a teacher for secondary or higher education.
Pre-Master's
Students who'd like to study Master's in Medical Biology but who lack a (small) part of the admissions criteria might be eligible for a (customised) pre-Master’s in English. The content of the programme consists of specific courses from our Bachelor's programme in Biology and depends on the specialisation that you intend to choose in the Master’s programme. The content and duration of the pre-Master’s are determined and on an individual basis.
