Our flexible master's programmes, all of which can be combined with full-time work, are aimed at those who want to take on new challenges and in the future aim for leadership or development tasks.
Research
Through our transdisciplinary efforts we conduct research programes that study future challenges in society and working life, sustainability, the delivery of social and welfare services, health promotion and technical solutions that support an ageing populations wellbeing.
Career
Karriärcenter Arabia will offer career planning, counselling and service guidance in Swedish for young people and adults. A broad target group can here get all their services from one and the same place, in Swedish. The center is launched in collaboration between Arcada University of Applied Sciences, the secondary vocational institution Prakticum and youth service provider Sveps.

1. Strong reputation in health and wellbeing education Arcada is known for offering high-quality programs in Health Promotion, Public Health–related studies, and Social Services. You want a university that specializes in the field you are interested in, not a general school. --- 2. Practical, hands-on learning style Arcada focuses on: real projects community work practical assignments internships in Helsinki You prefer real-life learning over stressful theory and exams. Arcada’s teaching style fits you perfectly. --- 3. International and welcoming environment Arcada has a diverse student population with many international students. You want a place where you can adapt easily, feel welcome, and learn in English without struggling. --- 4. Programs taught fully in English Since English is one of your strongest subjects, you want an institution where: you can learn comfortably you understand the content well
It opens up so many opportunities for me
I am happy that I decided to study at Arkin University of Creative Art and Design. This university gives a great experience and opportunities. Even we have beautiful exhibitions at the Art Rooms regularly. Students are allowed to participate as well. Moreover, the university provides extra courses (for example summer classes with certificates). We have a good library and cafes with great coffee. Parking area is not enough but this is because of location. Arucad locates near the old town, so it has not much space for cars but there is parking area which is government's one. It provides bus service even to another cities.

Housing services
Almost 500 student apartments are found on Arcadas campus. As an Arcada student you are welcome to apply for accommodation on campus.
Students at Arcada often find an apartment through HOAS, the Foundation for Student Housing. HOAS maintains approximately 10 000 student apartments in the metropolitan region.You can also visit the HOAS Facebook page for more information.
The HOAS apartments usually consist of private rooms with a common kitchen and bathroom. Most of the apartments are unfurnished, but there is a small number of furnished flats with essential furnishing (table, chair, bed, not including linen or kitchenware!).
Library services
Arcada’s library, located in block C2, offers library and information services for Arcada’s students and staff. The library's central activities are customer service, maintenance of the collections, development of information competence, the electronic services, statistical follow-up and key figures as well as cooperation with other actors.
ICT services
The IT unit is responsible for the operation and development of Arcada's information system and IT infrastructure as well as operating IT-support.
The Head of the IT unit is responsible for the management, comprehensive development and operational plan of the unit.
Campus life
The study environment at Arcada is great as it is a unified campus with a UAS, student housing and student union buildings. The campus surroundings are close to the sea and nature, but still has excellent connections to the city centre. The city centre can be reached in 20 minutes by bus or tram, and the metro is not far away either. Right next to the student housing there is a shopping centre with everything needed in everyday life and nearby are excellent areas for leisure activities.
Sports facilities
If you want to meet new people, Arcada Student Union – ASK and the different Student Associations arrange pastime activities such as parties, sitzes, trips, cottage weekends and other events. You can also just stop by the Cor-house and enjoy the terrace with new friends.
When it comes to sports, Arcada Student Union arranges different kind of activities. Arcada also holds a fully equipped gym, which all student at Arcada can use for a very reasonable prize. For more information about the Arcada gym and other free-time acitivites on campus, click here.
