History
POSTECH is Korea’s first research university, established in a period when Korea was still chasing after advanced technologies of developed nations. It was founded on the belief that Korea needed a university that could spearhead the global science and technology community.
Education
POSTECH’s founding tenets bid us to ultimately serve the nation and humanity through education and research. Continuing our tradition of excellence, I will do my utmost to lead POSTECH into a global research university that will brighten the future of Korea.
Research
In research, we led technological innovation demanded by the times with superb research results.
Career
Several choices of career…all graduates were accepted in the fields that they desired. Since the first graduation in 1991, as of February 2013, the number of alumni was 633 undergraduates, 415 master, 122 doctor, and 1,170 in total (883 alumni, considering the number of affiliated students).

POSTECH exchange experience 2021/22
A result-oriented university. A variety of laboratories with orders from leading companies, highly educated professors with work experience abroad, well-organized online lectures and exams. A huge library with computers, two gyms with swimming pools, clean dormitories.

Housing services
All international students will automatically be assigned to the on-campus accommodation upon meeting Buddies on campus, the first place they should go to is the Housing Office located on the first floor of the Dormitory Bldg. No. 13.
Library services
The Library provides traditional functions that collect paper materials and multifaceted functions that prepare ever changing digital world i.e. IT, computer, edcation development, and special research information center.
ICT services
You will have an access to computers at: 1. Internet Book Cafe (first floor, Student Union Building) 2. Tae-Joon Park Digital Library (computers located on every floor including Cyber Cafe on the sixth floor) 3. Computer labs in individual department buildings
Medical services
POSTECH runs a free-of-charge campus clinic on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building, where a nurse provides primary medical consultations and treatments for faculty, staff, and students. The clinic is only for primary medical treatment.
Campus life
With a 400-acre campus, POSTECH is fully equipped with the latest facilities. It is home to the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory and over 73 research centres.
Sports facilities
Most of the facilities in the Gymnasium are free of charge for students.The gym is open every day from 6:30 am to 12:00 midnight, and closed every third Sunday.
Student clubs
Graduate Admissions and Students Affairs hosts international events and programs throughout the year; it ranges from Korean movie nights to field trips, and many other cultural activities.
