History
April 6, 1913 is a significant date in the history of Romanian economic higher education, as it is the date when the Academy of High Commercial and Industrial Studies was established in Bucharest by Royal Decree no. 2972. In the year 1967, the University was renamed as The Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
Education
The Bucharest University of Economic Studies organizes 3-year Bachelor's study programs, according to the Bologna Declaration. ASE offers Bachelor's programs taught in English, French, German and Romanian in the following domains of study: Economic Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Sociology and Humanities.
For the candidates who would like to study in foreign languages, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies offers Master's programs in English, French or German.
Research
The Division of Research and Innovation Management provides the logistics support and specialized consultancy required by the University's staff and the experts they cooperate with for various research activities.

Student services
The Department for International Relations is responsible for policy preparation and implementation in the field of internationalization, under the coordination of the vice-rector for international relations. The main objectives are to inform and raise awareness, manage, coordinate and facilitate initiatives on internationalization and international cooperation.
It actively works to develop and maintain ASE's international recognition, exchange programs and partnerships with other universities. Its staff serves as a liaison between students, faculty and staff members both at ASE and abroad.Housing services
The university offers housing all around Bucharest – near the city’s northern lakes and parks, as well as in central locations, right in the heart of Bucharest. All student facilities come with specially designed sports facilities and study rooms, meeting all student life needs. The 12 student residence halls comprise of more than 4300 living arrangements, fully equipped and offering good standards of living at student prices. Room occupancy is 2 to 4 people, depending on the residence type.
Library services
The university libraries focus on developing student’s global knowledge of the socio-economic field by continually and extensively enriching their collections. The virtual library was established in 2002 and since then it has been one of the focus points of the development process. Students have access to hundreds of data bases of economic information specific to their economic fields.
ICT services
Computer access is available to all students in all the educational buildings in specialized access points or computer rooms. Access to the computer rooms is free during the individual study periods (access granted on student card).
Wireless hotspots are available around campus. Access to the ASE Secure network is available based on your student ID code.
Medical services
All international students are required to have a medical insurance valid for the entire period of studies with ASE – either the European health card or a private insurance.
Medical examinations are free at ASE students’ cabinets and they are carried out at the doctor's studio (Moxa campus) – general physician (3 doctors and 5 nurses) and dentist (4 doctors and 3 nurses) offices.
Sports facilities
With regards to sports, ASE’s students can choose from a wide array of physical activities, including basketball, volleyball, football, weight lifting, tennis, chess, cheer-leading and many more. ASE’s sports facilities are properly equipped and offer students the chance to practice team sports and individual sports at no cost. Sports are included in the curriculum for the first two years of study.
