Education
The university offers study programmes, second cycle programmes and a variety of courses in computing and IT, economy and leadership, health and care, teaching and languages, media, the individual and society as well as technology.
The University West has programmes in which we collaborate and cooperate closely with work-life, businesses and society. Through our profile - work integrated learning, WIL - students at the university gain work experience already while studying. University West has been commissioned by the government to develop pedagogics connected to WIL. One example of WIL is the so called Co-op in which studies are sandwiched with periods of paid work.
Research
Research is conducted within the areas of technology, social science, health and caring sciences and the humanities. Work integrated learning constitutes an important, interdisciplinary, field of research. There is a strong connection between the research conducted at University West and the undergraduate education.
The research concerning production processes in manufacturing industry is of special importance. This research is conducted in close collaboration with a variety of businesses. University West is authorized to award degrees at the doctoral level in the field of Production processes and Work Integrated Learning.

Human Resources with focus on Psychology
A great program that covered a lot of different areas in Human Resources. I have always been interesed in psychology and this program had a focus where you could choose psychology as a main focus and I'm so thankful for that. A very comfortable school with many skilled teachers who was always there as support and to learn.

Irrespective of an outstanding performance review is needed
Mediocre Engineering Program
Coming from a central European country, the overall study experience is mediocre at best. Workload is mostly low, and if it's high, it is mainly due to unnecessarily time-consuming tasks, which often times do not add a great value to the education. The professors that I had ranged from okay to abysmal. I have also yet to meet a professor, which is an expert in his field. Overall, this led to a great life-work balance, but of course at the cost of actually learning stuff.

Housing services
International degree students coming to study at University West are offered accommodation arranged by the municipal landlord Eidar Housing AB and the private landlord Hammar Nordic in cooperation with University West. Since the number of student rooms is limited, we cannot guarantee a place for everybody beforehand.
Library services
The library has print and online collections that encompass books, e-books, electronic journals, newspapers, multimedia and a range of other e-resources such as marketing reports. The modern library area is a natural meeting point and workplace on the campus and serves as a qualified information center for students and staff at the university.
Medical services
As a student at University West, you can benefit of the Student Health Service if you are in need of support during difficult situations that can affect your studies and your student life.
If you are experiencing stress, worry, performance anxiety, depression or you are going through a separation or a crise, you can contact the counsellors, Maria Blomqvist and Annette Ryckenberg.
Campus life
The University West Campus is located in the heart of Trollhättan, easily accessible with culture, trade and beautiful walks around the canal as part of the environment. The student environment is vibrant; there are a variety of students with different backgrounds, student unions and opportunities for collaboration with working life. You are met by an inspiring and practical study environment with plenty of meeting and study places - the best creative and stimulating conditions to develop.
