History
Later in the modern era Tabriz University was founded in 1947 and the Medical Faculty started its work with 8 professors. Two years later, Tabriz University formally had legal personality. In 1948, the junior college of nursing and midwifery was opened under the supervision of Medical Faculty.

TUOMS is the home campus for state wide programs in such medical fields as Pharmacology, Dentistry, Health, Nutrition, Management and Informatics, Nursery & Midwifery, Paramedicine, Rehabilitation and Advanced Sciences. As one of the outstanding medical research universities in Iran, TUOMS also tries to encourage researchers and facilitate their needs in order to attain its research and academic goals. The university tries to fulfill its three important missions, namely Research, Education and Healthcare through its 7 vice chancellors.

Results: CD133+HT-29 with CSCs-like phenotype were isolated with maximum purity. T0901317 and SR9243 reduced cell viability in a dose-dependent manner. T0901317 increased gene expression and protein expression of ABC transporters, decreased proliferation, colonization and migration of CD133+CSCs while induced cell apoptosis. SR9243 decreased cell proliferation and colonization by inhibiting LXR and downstream metabolic enzymes, increased intracellular ROS levels, and induced apoptosis in CSCs. ILipo 64.79 nm can encapsulate the SR at its maximum ratio. Compared with free drug and non-targeted liposomes (Lipo-SR), ILipo-SR facilitates the binding and uptake of nanoparticles in CD133+CSCs by targeting CD133, thereby inhibiting the tumorigenesis of these cells, producing ROS and induced apoptosis.
