Dakota State University was founded in 1881 as a school for teacher education in the Dakota Territory. Our strong programs, Trojan pride, and innovative ways have allowed us to become one of the most technologically advanced campuses in the Midwest.

Door to New Perspectives
The field of architecture is based on the environment because it is more related to exploration. My university supported the idea of exploration while studying. the studios used to be conducted out of studios, which I find most healthy to think out of the box. I think international tours or interaction with international students of architecture in terms of workshops and design discussion would elevate learning to another level I think the university should think in that dimension too. however, we as students have explored many places on our own and the university was very supportive which is great because it was not beneficial for the university but it was I guess a whole different experience that unlocked another perspective of our design so overall i am satisfied with the field and the space where I chose to study.

Housing services
- We're a small school with big heart. Our campus is a warm, welcoming place that strengthens and enhances your educational experience. You get all the benefits of a close-knit school with the amenities of a world-class university.
- DSU students work hard, but we have just as much fun. Our community of 3,000 plus students is active in athletics, academic teams, research, and clubs and organizations. From ultimate frisbee to anime, intramural sports to volunteer opportunities, there's a way to find your people.
Library services
The Karl E. Mundt Library provides the resources and information for all your varied needs -- access to online articles and journals, books, ebooks, audiobooks, DVDs, video cameras, study space and a live online chat system for research help.
ICT services
But it’s not just science. All of our majors and programs are infused with the latest technologies inside and outside of the classroom.

As a DSU student, you’ll have access to the Madison Community Center, which is located on our campus and features:

Student clubs
DSU's campus is home to more than 35 student-run clubs. Build model rockets with the Space Club. Act out in the Theatre Club. Celebrate diversity by getting involved with groups like The Alliance (LBGTQ students and allies), the Native American Student Association, or the American Association of University Women.
