History
The TU Ilmenau looks back on a long tradition in the training of engineers. It began on 3 November 1894 with the opening of the private educational institution Thüringisches Technikum, founded by Eduard Jentzen, where engineers in electrical and mechanical engineering were trained.

The cost of living in Ilmenau is lower compared to major German cities, making it budget-friendly for students. Also professors are highly qualified and supportive, providing both theoretical knowledge and practical insights.
Global Minds at TU Ilmenau
As a student in the Master�s program in International Business and Economics (IBE) at the Technical University of Ilmenau (TU Ilmenau), my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The university's vibrant international community significantly enriches the learning environment, fostering cross-cultural exchanges that are invaluable in today's globalized world. TU Ilmenau offers modern facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories and comprehensive libraries, complemented by a knowledgeable and supportive faculty. The IBE program, though relatively new, demonstrates TU Ilmenau�s commitment to expanding beyond its traditional technical strengths. This interdisciplinary approach equips students with a versatile skill set, combining business acumen with technical knowledge. Despite being in its early stages, the program holds great promise, though it requires some refinement to better align with industry standards. Best university with state of the art facilities
A good university with well equiped labs and qualified teachers. The campus life can be boring at times due to less number of peoples in the town and there are less job opportunities for students in the town.
