Education
Coming to study at the HES-SO means developing and deepening your skills and improving your experience and your integration into the professional environment. Based on Bachelor and Master courses anchored in six areas of training, the HES-SO also offers different means of lifelong training.
Research
One of HES-SO's primary missions is to foster applied research, development, innovation and creation – all of which are central to addressing our society’s needs and most pressing challenges. We take a pragmatic approach to achieving this goal, and place strong emphasis on hands-on work.
Our research has both a national and international reach and is constantly being adapted to keep pace with new practices. Our projects are increasingly supported by competitive funding from Innosuisse, the Swiss National Research Foundation and the EU's Horizon 2020 Programme.

Housing services
Student rooms can be rented in a building near HES-SO Master in Lausanne. It is also possible to book a room in a house belonging to the Fondations Maisons pour Étudiants Lausanne (FMEL).
Library services
As a student of HES-SO, you have access to the libraries of its partner universities.
You also have access to all documents in the Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire de Lausanne (BCUL) rom the Gymnase de Provence, which is to the north of the building.
You also have access to online digital library "ScholarVox".
ICT services
HES-SO provides e-learning platforms where, for certain modules, you can upload documents, exams, and more. It is also possible to participate in forums.
Medical services
The Department of Psychiatry at CHUV (CHUV) can offer you a consultation and short-term follow-up, based on a specific model of four sessions, called “Brief psychodynamic therapy”. The final session includes a review, which determines whether the sessions should end or whether further therapeutic work is required, in which case further sessions will be organised with you.
Student clubs
This association was created last June. Composed of a committee of 7 people, these statutory objectives are:
- Bring the voice of HES-SO Master students and auditors to the participatory bodies of the HES-SO (Council of consultation, HES-SO Master resonance group) and inform them of any subject concerning them dealt with by these same bodies
- Animate the life of the whole campus
- Offer services to HES-SO Master students and auditors and direct HES-SO Master students and auditors, where appropriate, to HES-SO Master services
