History
It was founded in 2007 as a private university and is state-approved by the Berlin Senate Department for Education, Science and Research. Together with its predecessor institutions, the Berlin School of Design and Communication Design has a 25-year history with extensive educational and teaching experience in the fields of communication, marketing, advertising and design.
Education
With six Bachelor's and three Master's programmes in marketing, advertising, web development, design and communication, the Berlin School of Design and Communication is a strong academic partner for the Berlin media and agency landscape.
Research
In Berlin alone, around 2,500 companies are due to undergo corporate succession every year. The joint research project "Innovative Learning and Communication Concepts for Corporate Succession" (LUKU) of the Institut für Entrepreneurship, Mittelstand und Familienunternehmen (EMF, The Institute for Entrepreneurship, the Middle Class and Family Businesses) of the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR, The University of Economics and Law) and the Department of Marketing Communication of the design akademie berlin aims to raise awareness of the topic of corporate succession among the public and affected companies.
