History
Sumy State University is located in Sumy city in the North-East of Ukraine. Its history began in 1948. Today, SumDU is a leading university in the region.
Education
Sumy State University (SumDU) offers a wide range of educational programs in engineering, IT, humanities and medicine from bachelor to post-doctoral degree. It trains about 16,000 students in different educational levels on 55 majors and 23 fields of knowledge.
Research
According to the SCOPUS database, Sumy State University holds a leading position among Ukrainian higher education and research institutions for h-index (the index of research impact) and the number of citations by the international academic community.There are more than 3000 employees in the university, including Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine, 150 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, and 700 Candidates of Sciences (Ph.D.), Associate Professors represent the academic staff of the University. There are 24 majors in postgraduate and 16 majors in post-doctoral programmes, degree awarding academic councils.

Education system of sumy state university is perhaps good.
things you need to know
the university wasnt the best, then again,there were not bad. because its a ukarine university offering english medium, their teaching in english was not the best because its not their native tongue, the school was okay

Housing services
All foreign students are provided with a comfortable housing in hostels № 3, 4, 5 of Sumy State University. All hostels have comfortable locations, for instance, hostel № 3 is located on the picturesque banks of the Lake Chekha and is not far from the SumDU buildings. Hostels № 3 and № 5 are located near forest and river.
Library services
An advanced library information system contains over 3 million items both in hard copies and e-copies and provides access to the most famous electronic databases of the world. The University’s library is a winner of the national competition “Library of the Year” in the nomination "University Libraries" 2019.
Medical services
Sumy State University purchased the sanatorium complex "Univer" in July 2013 to prolong the work of children establishment for summer period, to conduct winter sports competitions and training assemblies. The purpose of sanatorium complex "Univer" establishment is health improvement, full relaxation, sport, art and intellectual activity.
Sports facilities
40 kinds of sports and about 100 sports groups are available at the University. Sports teams perform at the premier league level. About 100 students are the record breakers and prize winners of the Olympic Games, World, European and Ukrainian Championships.The material and technical basis of SumDU sanatorium complex "Univer" consist of three cottages, administration building, boiling house, dining hall, summer dance floor, summer shower cubicles, computer lab, sport facilities, field for indoor soccer and basketball, area for beach volleyball, wrestling hall, table tennis, training and dancing halls, tourist area, encampment, pergola for relaxation and studies and equipped beach.
Accreditation
The State Accreditation Committee of Ukraine awarded Sumy State University with the IV level of accreditation in Ukraine.
