History
The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Urdu: جامعہ زرعيه فيصل آباد), (formally: Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute), is a university in the city of Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 1906[4] as the first major institution of higher agricultural education in the undivided Punjab.
Education
The Division of Education & Extension's larger part has been shifted to the Faculty of Social Sciences. Tanvir Ali (ex-director, Graduate Studies / ex-director, Division of Education and Extension) is now the director of the Institute of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Faculty of Social Sciences. The institute deals with disciplines like Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Information (Mass Communication), Rural Sociology, Population Science, Gender Studies, and Rural Development.
Research
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad is a major centre for research. It receives billions for research and development. It contributed very much to the community by introducing the modern techniques in agriculture. The university has two advanced scientific labs for research purposes, where university scientists do experiments.The University of California, Davis is the partner university of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. Both the universities collaborate in research and exchange programs. UAF has produced many scientists who are serving the world.

My study experience was academically enriching and professionally formative. It provided me with a strong foundation in agronomy and strengthened my interest in pursuing advanced research at the international levels.I liked fields of my universities linking theoretical studies to practical studies. Housing services
All hostels are equipped with modern facilities of ceiling fans, electric water pumps, electric water coolers, sui gas geysers for hot water, sui gas heaters in common rooms and hostel mosque.
Library services
The library represents an outstanding facility to meet the needs of the University's charter of promotion of education and research in the field of agriculture and related areas. The new building was completed in 1973. It is functional, simple and modern. Its exterior presents an attractive blend of modern and oriental architecture.
ICT services
Modern facilities like PCs and internet have been provided to the students in all the residential halls in the form of a beautiful computer laboratory in each hostel, each laboratory has 10-15 PCs. These laboratories were inaugurated by the worthy Chancellor and Vice Chancellor. One Computer Lab.
Campus life
A sub-campus of University of Agriculture Faisalabad was established in Burewala District Vehari, to spread the agriculture research all across the country, especially in southern area of Punjab. A sub-campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad was established in Toba Tek Singh[7] on 5 June 2005 to study the poultry industry. B.Sc Poultry Science (4 year degree program) is offered at this campus. Special efforts for establishing this sub-campus were made by Prof. Dr. Bashir Ahmed (Ex- Vice Chancellor) and Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq (Ex- district Nazim). Current principle of the institute is Dr. Nisar Ahmed from Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology (CABB).
Sports facilities
The event was organized by Directorate of Sports Board, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in which 6 hockey and 5 football team took part. In final Football event, LESCO outshined University of Agriculture Faisalabad Foot Ball Team with 3-2 score whereas final match of hockey was named by Gulberg Team who defeated Agrarian Hockey Club of UAF. University of Agriculture Faisalabad Hockey team stood 3rd in the tournament. Hockey Olympian Manzoor ul Hassan Senior and Rao Salem Nazim along with Chief Guest Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Khan distributed the prizes among the winners and officials of the participating teams.
Student clubs
Qiraat & Naat Club is a very vital and vibrant society in UAF. Its members are usually expected to participate in the university, province, or country level Hifzo-Qiraat Competitions. However, Qiraat &Naat Club seems to have taken the lead over other student clubs, as many of the events organized under this club prove hugely successful.
