Tomorrow University, founded by Christian Rebernik & Thomas Funke in response to the 2020 pandemic, addresses the limitations of traditional education. They identified the need for a model leveraging modern tech & active learning. Learning for Tomorrow, Today
My experience at Tomorrow University has been a paradigm shift in education. The challenge-based, project-oriented curriculum is exactly what the modern world demands, moving beyond theory to solve real, impactful problems. The global, collaborative cohort exposed me to diverse perspectives, mirroring today's interconnected work environments. The flexibility of the online platform, combined with the high-touch support from practitioners and facilitators, empowered me to take ownership of my learning journey. The focus on developing a "founder's mindset" and skills like adaptability and systems thinking has been invaluable. To deepen the experience, even more live, synchronous collaboration sessions would be fantastic. Overall, ToU isn't just a university; it's a launchpad for purposeful change-makers.
An experience I would not want to miss
I started my MBA at Tomorrow University in September 2024 and was pleasantly surprised right from the start. The course is very different from a "normal" university, as it is set up on a challenge-based basis. This means that there are various challenges at the end with content that you work on in the form of lessons, various live sessions with the respective professor and a paper at the end that you have to hand in. You learn the content extremely well through the deliverable at the end. The structure is like an online campus. In my course, there are various colleagues from all over the world with whom you have active contact and can network through the live sessions and some group tasks. In general, all fellow students, professors and university staff are very open. Questions are answered quickly and helpfully. I myself have learned a lot during my time at ToU that will help me in my future business life and I am always excited and proud of myself when I finish a milestone and can start a new one. Everything that has been part of my course so far makes a big picture and definitely makes sense. In terms of time, the course is definitely doable, even alongside work and/or children. You just have to structure yourself well and stick to a schedule. I can only warmly recommend the course to anyone!
A Truly Innovative Learning Experience!
Studying at Tomorrow University has been an incredible experience. The flexibility of the program allows me to work while pursuing my degree, something I never thought possible with a traditional university. Since it's completely remote, I can study from anywhere without the stress of rigid schedules, random tests, or exam sessions. Instead, the challenge-based model ensures that we not only gain deep theoretical knowledge but also apply it meaningfully in our capstone projects. What truly sets Tomorrow University apart is its innovative approach to education. We are always exposed to the latest research, ideas, and technologies, making our learning experience very relevant to the time we live in. As a student in AI and Sustainable Technologies, I love that sustainability and climate action are deeply integrated into the curriculum. No matter what we study, we are always encouraged to think about real-world impact and responsibility�something that makes this university truly unique. Beyond academics, the sense of community is fantastic. The international meet-ups allow us to connect in person, exchange ideas, and build strong relationships. The virtual coffee dates also make networking and socializing easy, fostering an engaged and supportive community.
