LUT Business School

The School's research and teaching combine industrial engineering and management, business studies and expertise in information technology in a unique way. The School offers up-to-date information on sustainable competitiveness to companies that are competing in the global market. The School has of staff of approximately 220, of whom 42 are professors.

The objective of research carried out at the LUT School of Business and Management is to form a better understanding of the factors that lead to sustainable value creation, i.e. approaches that will ensure that companies are successful in international competition and, at the same time, operate in a way that is economically, ecologically and socially sustainable.

Research based on current research questions in the fields of business administration and industrial engineering and management emphasises strong theoretical, analytical and methodological expertise. Research is carried out in close cooperation with the business world.

• International business, marketing and entrepreneurship
• Operation Management and Systems Engineering
• Innovation and Software

Our researchers have expertise in both economics and technology, which facilitates broad-scoped understanding of researched phenomena.

We conduct research in international and national interorganisational research groups and in close cooperation with companies. In addition to companies, other actors that provide funding for the unit's research include the Academy of Finland, the EU and Tekes.
