History
The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt was founded as the first of its kind in 1994 and counts among the top educational institutions in our state. Currently, 4000 students are enrolled in a Bachelor or Master programme at one of our campuses: Wiener Neustadt, Wieselburg, Tulln and Vienna. More than 12000 of our graduates are now pursuing successful careers both in Austria and abroad.
Education
We are acting according to our credo: perspectives through applied learning. Through our practice-oriented educational concept, our graduates are offered a wide range of perspectives for a successful professional career. In the 2015 Universum Talent Research study, the excellent job perspectives were confirmed by our students who voted the FHWN first as the university with the greatest “employability” – the competence to apply the acquired skills directly on the job.
Research
In addition to a high practical relevance, our focus is on applied research. Our many research labs, functional spaces and seminar rooms are equipped with up-to-date technology guaranteeing a first class education. Furthermore, our engineering and scientific degree programmes in their research- and development projects are supported by FOTEC, the FHWN’s own research company.
Career
Another main focal point at FHWN is our internationality. With currently 95 partner universities all over the world, our students have many opportunities to spend a semester abroad to further their studies or undertake their internship. At FHWN, interacting and networking with (inter)national partners in business, industry and research provide valuable contacts when launching a professional career.

A university that focuses on students' needs
The university is very international, consisting of more than 20 nationalities. Moreover, it focuses on current business issues and offers study cases that enhance students' ability to perceive and acknowledge trends and fast moving markets.

Student services
The central task of our department is the coordination of all FH WN international relations, the establishment and maintenance of the partner network, providing advice and support of incoming and outgoing students and teachers and employees with regards to mobility and the planning and implementation of all international activities.
Housing services
The livable and lovable Wiener Neustadt has a lot to offer! It is not only a city with a great atmosphere, where you can feel the 800-year history of the former imperial residence at every turn, but also a large economic, industrial and commercial basis where further education, research and development take a high priority. Especially the University of Applied Sciences, the science park, and numerous High-Tech-companies are figureheads and the basis for a successful future.
Library services
The University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt’s library is the largest scientific library within southern Lower Austria and may be visited and used in-house by everyone interested. Students, graduates, lecturers and employees of our university, as well as students of other universities are authorized to borrow books and other media.
Campus life
Being a student at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt is more than just studying and reading books.
In addition to an excellent academic education, the campus life plays an important role for students. This includes entertainment, various leisure time facilities, sports, a trendy gastronomy and a rich cultural offer as well as shopping opportunities and relaxing zones.
Sports facilities
Whoever studies a lot needs to keep body and soul in balance. What better way to do that than with sport? With its sport activities, the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt (FHWN) offers an ideal balance to the everyday study grind and offers -exclusively for students- an extensive and colourful programme of sport activities which is constantly adapted to suit student’s wishes and requirements.
