At this Erasmus Mundus Journalism, Media and Globalisation (EMJ) from Charles University you’ll dive deep into the histories and challenges of post-authoritarian societies. Gain the skills to create impactful multimedia content and explore career paths like foreign correspondence or investigative and data journalism.
At a general level, the program focuses on analytical skills needed to identify and analyse cultural, political, and technological challenges to and opportunities for journalism across the globe. It combines theoretical, methodological and practical perspectives. You can choose from four specializations for the second year.
Key facts
Our faculty in Prague offers the Authoritarianism & Transition specialisation. This specialisation will give you a solid understanding of the contemporary history of post-authoritarian countries. You will work with key issues facing journalism in light of ongoing political, market related and technological transformations. Obtained theoretical knowledge becomes the point of departure for the practical courses in audio, video and multimedia journalism production. The program also offers foreign correspondence, investigative and data journalism, podcasting and drone workshops.
The program is open to students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related program and have at least three months of journalistic experience.
Given the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in audio, video, photo and multimedia journalism you will gain in this program, one of many possible career paths leads to the field of audiovisual journalism or foreign correspondence, investigative or data journalism.
