Overview
Key facts
A wide range of specialist knowledge is required to create and analyze digital images. In addition to computer science, mathematics and mechatronics from Saarland University, medical technology from the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Technology and the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science are involved in the Saarbrücken master’s course in "Visual Computing". In addition, there is close cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, which is also located on the Saarbrücken campus.
Saarland University's degree in "Visual Computing" teaches the basics, processes and applications of computer-aided visual information processing. The students deal with image evaluation and pattern recognition. You will learn how images are created, processed and technically analyzed and how images and animations can be artificially produced so that they correspond to reality as closely as possible. The necessary theoretical and practical specialist knowledge is imparted in courses that are devoted to image creation and its geometric basics, image synthesis and image analysis and related areas. In addition, participants in the "Visual Computing" master’s course acquire the basics of mathematics, computer science, physics and mechatronics.
