Overview
About Audiology at University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences
Audiology is a branch of science that studies hearing, balance, and related disorders.
Audiologists are healthcare professionals who provide patient-centered care in the prevention, identification, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment of hearing, balance, and other auditory disorders for people of all ages.
The Audiologist carries out a range of tests on adults and children to determine the presence, nature, and extent of hearing loss and balance disorders, enabling accurate clinical diagnosis in a range of hearing-related conditions. If an audiologist determines that a hearing disorder or vestibular abnormality is present, he or she will provide recommendations for interventions or rehabilitation.
Our fully trained and postgraduate audiologists have substantial knowledge about hearing, acoustics, and balance, enabling them to solve technical problems and develop logical alternatives. In their rehabilitative role, they can prescribe hearing aids, evaluate and monitor the efficacy of hearing aids, provide auditory training, vestibular rehabilitation programs, hearing tactics and counseling.
