Overview
The master’s programme in Management and Business Development from University of Agder provides you with a comprehensive and relevant knowledge and skills in developing and managing businesses. It does so through general, over-arching courses complemented by three specialisations - International Business, Strategic Marketing, and Innovation and Transformation with a special focus on business responsibility and sustainability. The three specialisations in this programme are designed for enabling the development of unique expertise which helps future managers navigate in the complex and dynamic environment of the global arena.

Teaching methods vary between courses and include - lectures, group- and teamwork, case discussions, laboratory, seminars, presentations, simulations, exercises, term papers and supervision on papers. The students will gain experience in multimedia presentations, different kinds of project work, workshops, analysing case studies and field trips. ICT and library databases will be used in several courses.
All compulsory courses in the specialisation(s) International Business and Strategic Marketing are taught in English. Several electives and courses in Innovation and Transformation are also taught in English. The remaining courses in the specialisation in Innovation and Transformation are taught in Norwegian as well as some of the electives taught at other faculties.

Academic requirements
Either a major subject of minimum 80 ECTS credits, of which a minimum of 20 credits at level 2 / additional level, or an integrated programme of at least two years duration within business administration, marketing, management, relevant social sciences or equivalent. The admission requirement must include a minimum of 7.5 credits in social science methodology. A weighted average grade of C or better is required. Admission takes place in accordance with regulations on admission to study programmes and courses at the University of Agder.

- General admission requirement is completed bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with a scope of minimum three years’ duration (180 ECTS credits).
- Either: a major subject within business, administration, marketing, management, relevant social sciences or equivalent of minimum 80 ECTS credits, of which a minimum of 20 credits are at level 2 / additional level.
- Or: an integrated programme of at least two years duration within business administration, marketing, management, relevant social sciences or equivalent.
