Globalisation and the increased interconnectedness created by the rapid flow of capital, people, goods, images and ideologies across national boundaries requires a new set of specialised educational tools.
What will you learn?
The student will gain:
- An interdisciplinary perspective on the implications of globalisation on civil society, state power, changing patterns of national culture and global markets and technologies, and the environment.
- An understanding of the effects of globalisation on key actors in the global arena, such as NGOs, global corporations, international campaigning groups, states or multinational institutions.
- The ability to employ interdisciplinary approaches to the practical challenges in globalisation and sustainable development through an internship undertaken in a global company or organisation.

General requirements
Admission to the programme requires a Bachelor degree in Humanities or Social Sciences with a specialisation of minimum 80 ECTS credits in one of the following disciplines:
- Development studies
- European Studies
- Geography
- History
- International relations
- Political science
- Social anthropology
- Social economics
- Social work
- Sociology
To be accepted to the programme students must have at least an average grade of C (by the Norwegian grading system). A C grade, however, does not guarantee admission.
